SYSTEC Researcher named among the World’s Top 2% most-cited Scientists

SYSTEC proudly announces that Dr. Mohammad Sadegh Javadi Estahbanati, a researcher at the Faculty of Engineering (FEUP), has once again been recognized among the top 2% most-cited scientists in the world, according to the latest edition of the Stanford University/Elsevier database, released on 7th of October 2026.

Dr. Mohammad Sadegh Javadi Estahbanati features in both rankings published in this edition: the single-year list, which measures scientific impact in 2025, and the career-long list, which reflects sustained impact throughout an entire research career. This marks a continued presence in every edition since 2020.

This distinction underscores SYSTEC’s ongoing commitment to research excellence and reinforces its position as a leading research centre at the forefront of scientific innovation. The Stanford/Elsevier ranking is based on Scopus data and uses a composite citation indicator, including total citations, h-index and co-authorship-adjusted metrics, to identify the most influential researchers across scientific fields and subfields, making this recognition particularly prestigious.

The inclusion in this select group reflects not only individual achievement but also the collaborative and stimulating research environment fostered at SYSTEC. This continued recognition strengthens the international visibility of SYSTEC, FEUP and the University of Porto, and demonstrates the centre’s capacity to attract and nurture world-class talent.
